Heroes of the Storm - Technical Design
My first full-time gig as a designer was on the technical design team on Heroes of the Storm. I mainly implemented UI for new systems going into the game, the most visible of which include MVP and updated end of game flows, Observer mode updates, new Armor and Shield displays, and the Heroes 2.0 shop relaunch.
I served as the design stakeholder on the feature team in charge of updates to the Observer mode UI, used in official HGC tournaments. In this role, I coordinated directly with showrunners and esports talent, as well as the artists and engineers needed to support their needs.
Another feature I had impact on was helping out with the UX design of emojis. I ended up implementing both the UI needed to use them, and the store pages and product info, as well as doing a fair bit of research and documentation of different emoji systems and ways to make them simple to use.
